Privacy and safety

How the current GhanaAlert preview handles information, and what you should avoid sharing.

Current status

GhanaAlert is still in pre-launch. Community report submissions, donations and responder dispatch are disabled. The report form currently creates a temporary draft in your browser tab only; it does not send or save the draft to GhanaAlert.

Account information

If you create an account, your email address and authentication data are processed by the Supabase authentication service to support sign-in, email confirmation and password recovery. Do not use an email address you cannot access. Never share your password or verification code.

Information not to include in reports

Do not enter government identification numbers, identity-document images, private phone numbers, personal email addresses, home addresses, medical records, details identifying children or vulnerable people, or unverified allegations about named individuals.

Public information

When community reporting is launched, any information approved for publication may be visible to other visitors. The review, correction, removal and retention procedures must be finalized and tested before submissions are enabled.

Third-party services and contact

The current website is hosted by Render and uses Supabase for account authentication and database services. This page is a plain-language description of the current preview, not a complete legal privacy notice. Before public launch, GhanaAlert must publish its operating entity, contact channel, lawful processing details, retention periods, user-rights process and applicable privacy terms.

Need help? Use the emergency contacts page for urgent situations. GhanaAlert is not an emergency dispatch service.
